Economy

Fees & economy

OHKO earns a small fee (the rake) on every staked match, taken only from the winner's payout. Part of every SOL and USDC fee buys back and burns $OHKO, so the more people play, the more $OHKO is burned: every KO burns $OHKO.

All values on this page are the launch defaults. The live values are stored in the escrow program's on-chain Config account; Play and the token page read them from the chain, so an admin change shows up everywhere at once.

Rake

$OHKO2.5%100% burned
Hard cap10%Enforced by the program for every table and tournament
  • The rake is a share of the total pot (both stakes).
  • Draws, mutual timeouts, cancels before an opponent joins and expired refunds are free: both players get their full stake back.
  • The program enforces hard caps: the rake can never exceed 10%, the split must always sum to 100% (in basis points), and only the admin can change the configuration. Every change emits an on-chain event.

Stake tiers

Stake tiers per currency
CurrencyQueue tiers (per player)Challenge links
SOL0.01 · 0.05 · 0.1 · 0.25 · 0.5 · 1Any amount from 0.01 to 1

$OHKO10,000 · 50,000 · 100,000 · 500,000 · 1M · 5MAny amount from 10,000 to 5M

Queues are keyed by format, currency and tier, so you only meet players who chose the same stake. Challenge links may use any custom amount within the range.

Worked examples

A 0.1 SOL table with the standard 5% rake:

Worked example: 0.1 SOL table at 5%
ItemAmount
Stake0.1 SOL per player
Pot0.2 SOL
Rake (5%)0.01 SOL
Winner receives0.19 SOL
Treasury0.005 SOL
Buyback & burn vault0.003 SOL
Season prize pool0.002 SOL

A 25 USDC table where one player holds 1,000,000 $OHKO (4% rake):

Worked example: 25 USDC table at 4%
ItemAmount
Stake25 USDC per player
Pot50 USDC
Rake (4%)2 USDC
Winner receives48 USDC
Treasury1 USDC
Buyback & burn vault0.6 USDC
Season prize pool0.4 USDC

A 100,000 $OHKO table (2.5%, all burned):

Worked example: 100000 $OHKO table at 2.5%
ItemAmount
Stake100,000 $OHKO per player
Pot200,000 $OHKO
Rake (2.5%)5,000 $OHKO
Winner receives195,000 $OHKO
Burned5,000 $OHKO

All fee math uses integers in base units (lamports, micro-USDC, micro-$OHKO): the rake is rounded down, and any rounding dust of the split goes to the treasury, so the parts always add up to exactly the pot.

Holder discounts

Holding $OHKO lowers the rake on SOL and USDC tables:

Holder discounts on SOL and USDC tables
$OHKO heldRakeSaving
Below 100K5%–
≥ 100,0004.5%0.5% lower
≥ 1M4%1% lower
≥ 10M3.5%1.5% lower

The program reads each player's $OHKO token account when the match is created and joined, and the higher tier of the two players sets the rake for the whole match. Play tells you how much more $OHKO you need for the next tier. $OHKO tables have no holder discount.

Referrals

Every wallet has an invite link, https://ohko.duckdns.org/r/<wallet>. A player who arrives through it can register the referrer once, on Referrals: this is an on-chain transaction and it can never be changed, and nobody can refer themselves.

For 90 days after registering, the referrer receives 10% of the treasury share of every SOL and USDC match the referred player plays, win or lose. It is paid automatically in the settlement transaction; nothing is claimed later.

Example: on a 0.1 SOL table the treasury share is 0.005 SOL. If the winner or the loser was referred, their referrer receives 10% of it, 0.0005 SOL, in the settlement transaction, for 90 days after registering.

If both players of a match were referred, each referrer receives their share. $OHKO tables have no treasury share, so they pay no referral. A SOL referral too small to open an empty wallet (below Solana's rent-exempt minimum) stays in the treasury instead.

Season prize pool

20% of all SOL and USDC rake flows into the on-chain season vault.

Seasons follow the calendar month (UTC). The top 50 wallets of the staked ladder with at least 20 staked matches share the season pool.

The season ladder is an Elo rating per wallet per month, fed only by staked table matches (queue and challenge links). At the end of the month the top wallets share the pool along a fixed curve: rank r receives a share proportional to 1/r. With fewer qualifiers, the curve is spread over them.

#45.55%
#54.44%
#102.22%

How a season is paid:

  1. After the month ends, OHKO freezes the final standings. The pool is the season vault's spendable balance, minus anything still owed to earlier seasons.
  2. The payout list, its SHA-256 hash and its Merkle root are published on the leaderboard and at GET /api/seasons/<id> before anything is paid.
  3. The admin publishes the root on-chain (publish_season), then pays the list in batches (distribute_season). Each entry is proven against the root and can be paid only once.

Each share is rounded down; the remainder stays in the vault for the next season. A season without qualifiers rolls its pool over.

Tournaments

Sit-and-go tournaments for 8 or 16 players use the same fee rules as tables, without holder discounts or referrals.

Tournament prize split
SizePrizes (1st / 2nd / 3rd)Fee
8 players65% / 35%5% of SOL/USDC entries (split like tables); $OHKO entries: 10% burned
16 players60% / 25% / 15%5% of SOL/USDC entries (split like tables); $OHKO entries: 10% burned

Example: an 8-player tournament with a 5 USDC entry has a 40 USDC prize pot. 5% (2 USDC) is the fee, split 50/30/20 like a table. The winner receives 65% of the remaining 38 USDC (24.70 USDC) and the runner-up 35% (13.30 USDC).

Daily quests

Daily quests pay small $OHKO rewards from a fixed marketing pool (5% of the supply, pre-funded on devnet). Rewards are transfers from that pool, never newly minted tokens.

Win 3 free battles1,000 $OHKO

Win a staked match3,000 $OHKO

Caps: 5,000 $OHKO per wallet per day and 2M $OHKO across all players per day. When a cap is reached or the marketing pool is empty, the quest grants its cosmetic instead.

Where the money goes

  • Treasury vault: OHKO's revenue. Only the admin can withdraw it.
  • Buyback vault: SOL and USDC waiting to be swapped for $OHKO and burned (see $OHKO token).
  • Season vault: the season prize pool.

Live balances of all three are read straight from Solana on the token page.
