Getting started
OHKO runs on Solana devnet, a test network: every token you use here is free and has no real value. You can play a free battle right now without a wallet, and set up a wallet in a few minutes when you want to try staked matches.
Your first free battle
- Go to Play and pick a format. Gen 9 Random Battle is the default: both players get a random team, so there is nothing to prepare.
- Leave the table on Free.
- Press Find an opponent to queue for another player, or Practice vs. bot to start at once against the OHKO Bot. If nobody turns up within about 20 seconds, the page suggests the bot.
- In battle, pick a move or a switch. On a keyboard, 1–4 choose a move, Q–Y choose a switch and Enter confirms. On a phone, the move grid and the switch bar sit in the bottom thumb zone and the battle log opens from the sheet at the bottom.
- When the battle ends you can offer a rematch, watch the replay or share it. Every finished battle is listed under Replays.
Free battles do not count for the season ladder. Battles against other people count for your all-time rating per format, and every battle of at least three turns (bot battles included) counts for daily quests.
Set up a devnet wallet
OHKO works with Phantom, Solflare and Backpack on desktop and mobile, with any wallet that supports the Solana Mobile Wallet Adapter on Android, and inside the in-app browsers of Phantom and Solflare on iOS.
- Install a wallet: Phantom, Solflare or Backpack.
- Create a new wallet (or a separate account) just for testing. Never use a wallet that holds real funds for a test network.
- Switch the wallet to devnet:
- Phantom: Settings → Developer settings → turn on Testnet mode → choose Solana Devnet.
- Solflare: Settings → Network → Devnet.
- Backpack: Settings → Solana → RPC connection → Devnet.
- On OHKO, press Connect wallet in the header and pick your wallet. On a phone browser without a wallet extension, the dialog offers links that open OHKO inside the wallet app.
- Press Sign in. Your wallet asks you to sign a short message (Sign-In With Solana). It is not a transaction and costs nothing. The session lasts 12 hours.
If OHKO shows a wrong network banner, your wallet reports that it is not on devnet. The banner opens a step-by-step guide for your wallet. OHKO always sends transactions to devnet itself, so a wallet on the wrong network can never send a stake to mainnet by accident.
Claim devnet tokens
Open the Faucet with your wallet signed in. Each asset can be claimed once every 12 hours per wallet:
- Devnet SOL pays for transaction fees and SOL tables. The faucet first asks the public Solana airdrop. That airdrop is rate limited per IP address; when it refuses, OHKO sends a small drip from its own faucet wallet and links to faucet.solana.com for more.
- Mock USDC is OHKO's own devnet USDC (6 decimals, like the real one), minted by the faucet.
- $OHKO is transferred from the faucet's pre-funded balance. It is never minted.
Your first staked match
- On Play, choose a currency (SOL, USDC or $OHKO) and a stake tier. The panel shows the pot, the fee and what the winner receives, and tells you if your balance is short (with the exact amount and a faucet link).
- The first time, confirm that you are 18 or older. Once per day, OHKO also asks for a quick human check before your first staked match.
- Press Find a staked opponent. When someone at the same table is found, you are paired.
- The player who waited longest deposits first, then the other. Each of you has 90 seconds to approve the deposit in your wallet. The deposit locks your stake in the on-chain escrow: nobody, not even OHKO, can take it out except by the rules described in Smart contract.
- Once both stakes are escrowed, the battle starts. When it ends, OHKO's referee settles the match on-chain: the winner is paid in the same transaction and the fee is split into the vaults. The result screen shows the payout transaction, a link to verify the match, and a rematch button (fresh deposits, sides swapped).
